ABOUT JUDITH NEWBERGER, Author
I am a native of Detroit and a graduate of Wayne State University with a degree in Elementary Education. I moved to Southern California in my early 20s and quickly found satisfying work teaching preschoolers. In 1982 I married and we had two children in short order. Since then I have dedicated myself to nurturing and raising the children, who have gone on to become delightful and impressive young adults.
Returning from our honeymoon on Catalina, a stray cat (who we renamed Catalina) adopted us and made herself at home. She lived to a ripe old age. Later, we adopted Cali from a local animal shelter, and she too made herself at home and became an integral part of our family. She too lived to a ripe old age. Our adult daughter brought Jasper into our lives after adopting him from a shelter in Boulder, CO where she was in school. He is such a fun cat to watch and play with that he has become my muse and inspiration for this book (and others in the series that I have planned out).
